This special pop-up presentation in our East Gallery features new works by Caroline Ongpin made during her 2025 Marabeth Cohen-Tyler Print/Paper Fellowship at Dieu Donné, the leading nonprofit cultural institution dedicated to the use of hand papermaking processes in contemporary art. In this selection of works, Ongpin uses watermark, blowout, and stencil techniques to explore the subtle possibilities of translucency and color using specifically developed fiber combinations, in relation to her exploration into landscape and waterway imagery.
A complementary selection of Ongpin’s works made during her fellowship will be on view at Dieu Donné, located in the Brooklyn Navy Yard, November 9–December 11, 2026.

About the Artist
Caroline Ongpin (b. 1989, California) is a New York-based artist and was the 2025 Marabeth Cohen-Tyler Print/Paper Fellow at Dieu Donné. She has had residencies with Arquetopia Foundation and Guttenberg Arts, and has had solo exhibitions at the Museo Taller Erasto Cortés in Puebla, Mexico and the Cultural Center of the Philippines in Manila. Ongpin received her BFA in Studio Arts from the University of the Philippines and completed Tamarind Institute’s Printer Training Program. She is an instructor of printmaking at the Art Students League of New York and is the owner and lead printer of collaborative lithography studio Ermitanya Editions located in Brooklyn, New York.
About The Marabeth Cohen-Tyler Print/Paper Fellowship
The Marabeth Cohen-Tyler Print/Paper Fellowship is awarded annually to a BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, person of color) or underrepresented printmaking postgraduate or professional printer. Through research and experimentation, the fellow develops custom papers for different printing methods and explores creative techniques in the papermaking process to enhance imagery. Kenneth Tyler and Dieu Donné are honored to have established this Fellowship in memory of Marabeth Cohen-Tyler.
