Explorations in Lithography
September 22 - October 20, 2026
Ermitanya Editions invites 8 artists into the workshop to experiment with drawing materials designed for lithography and get test prints of their exploratory marks. No prior experience with lithography or printmaking is necessary.
The sessions are designed for artists who are:
curious about lithography as a means to create imagery and want to experience mark-making with materials specific to the medium
are looking to explore collaboration with an artisan-printer to create original, limited edition fine art prints, yet unsure if the medium is a good fit for their work or way of working
What the artist will receive:
One-on-one guidance and consultation with the lead printer
Practical information on drawing materials for lithography (dry and wet media) and time to make exploratory marks with these materials on an aluminum plate with drawing area of 11”x15”
Two proofs in black on heavyweight printmaking paper from a selection of bright white, off-white, and cream papers (paper size: 11”x15”)
Cost: $95 for a 4-hour, one-on-one session (tax included)
Schedule: Sessions will take place on Tuesdays, Fridays, or Saturdays from either 9:00am-1:00pm or 1:00pm-5:00pm

After your form/email is received, you will be contacted with a confirmation of the date and time of your session as well as the payment details.
Payment and Cancellation/Rebooking Policy:
Payment must be made at least 14 days prior to the artist’s preferred slot. Slot is considered open until payment is made.
Rebooking is permitted if the request is made at least 72 hours before the original schedule. 50% refundable if cancellation is made at least 72 hours before the original schedule. Payment is forfeited if cancellation is made less than 72 hours before the original schedule.
Please note that the exploratory sessions are not designed for those who wish to learn or improve on technical skills in the processing and printing of lithographs. For inquiries about classes, please contact the workshop at the email indicated above.
